  16. I found out Vel. of bolt wrt lift =4(3)^1/2 m/s. Now I used the formula of relative velocity as  Vel. Of bolt wrt lift + Vel.of lift wrt grd= Vel. Of bolt wrt grdie.  -4(3)^1/2 + 5 = 5+ 4(3)^1/2m/s  using this i got vel. Of bolt wrt grd=5-4(3)^1/2 m/s which is different from the answer 5-10/(3)^1/2 m/s....so where am I wrong and why....plz help

  22. Sir.. if we take everything with respect to ground bolt's U=+5m/s a=-10 and s=-2........ then we get v=root 65 sir?
    9 years ago by JS.Akshaiy Ramlinkam
    Ans 1 ->
    and how can u take s=-2 wen u've considered lift as reference frame?
    9 years ago by JS.Akshaiy Ramlinkam
    Ans 2 ->
    If you are taking ground as reference frame then you cannot use s=-2 in 3rd eq. because s=-2 when we take lift as reference frame. The person at ground observes a different displacement s of bolt which can be cal. as s=5(1/root3)-1/2*g*1/3 and then you put s in 3rd eq. to get velo. final. But it is very complex procedure so you can use 1st eq. to get direct result...

  24. I have the same doubt as asked by Suhail Hakeem.
    9 years ago by Apurv Upreti
    Ans 1 ->
    g can be considered in all ref frames as body weight acts everywhere due to gravity... but in other reference frames we consider relative acceleration...

  26. Sir, why we consider 'g' only in frame of reference of ground?
